Kerr’s Hire, Grovedale and Ocean Grove already had solar panels installed at one of their sites but knew they needed to expand their solar coverage to reduce the burden of their electricity costs. The key challenge overcome in this project was gaining access to the high rooftops. City to Surf Solar used a Kerr’s Hire scissor lift to overcome roof heights and install the panels without any business interruption.
Known as the commercial and industrial solar experts with a reputation for quality and the longest warranties available in the market, Kerr’s hire wanted to use a local supplier with the same quality and regionally-focused values. We installed solar systems that would not only help Kerr’s Hire meet its current energy requirements but also future-proofed their needs by allowing for battery storage at a later date. A 30kW PV solar system and storage batteries were installed.
Through this project, Kerr’s Hire achieved 80 per cent coverage of their power bills, which equates to a saving of $12,000 per year on their energy costs. The company is enjoying a reduction in energy costs and lowering its environmental footprint. Further, with the infrastructure for battery storage at a later date, this provides Kerr’s Hire with another valuable tool in being as self-reliant as possible in running the business.
